Greetings from an old member, now returned!

Hello everybody! I've been a long time member of the forum, and started collecting Weta and Sideshow LOTR statues back in 2005 or so. I've been away from the forum for a few years as I had to stop collecting, due to simply not being able to afford it any longer! (Shame, I would have loved the Cave Troll and Thranduil Throne pieces..)
Anyway, it's nice to be back and it's been good to catch up, see a few familiar names and oggle at the new collectables.
Also, over the past few years I've had to box away some of my own statues, as I no longer have as much room to display them as I used to. This means I have things to sell, and I thought this place would be the best to do so. First things first though, I wanted to check if selling is still allowed on the forum, and if so, what the protocol was.
So, if some kind Mod could let me know what's what, I'd very much appreciate it! Thanks!

(PS...so who got Thranduil on his throne then? )

Welcome back to our little family You've sure missed a lot in the meantime. It's always a shame every time a true collector has to stop collecting because of money or space problems. But it's good that you've made your way back to us.

PS. And here is your wished for Thranduil on Throne:

He really is gorgious and an absolute masterpiece of art. The likeness to Lee Pace is superb and the detailing on this statue is more than amazing.

Arwen0605...boy, that truly is a fantastic statue! Nicely displayed too! I simply had nowhere to put it, (I had a struggle finding room for my 'Thranduil-on-his-Battle-Gnu' statue!) My wife and I were hoping for a stand-alone statue of the Throne-room guard, so the fact one was included with this was doubly gutting! I dread to think how big the box was!

              It's a beautiful piece Arwen0605, you're very fortunate!

If I didn't own Thranduil on Elk, I might have ordered it, came very close but just wasn't able to allocate the necessary space as it's quite sizeable

bombjak welcome back, feel free to advertise anything in the Trading Grounds:

Yeah, as far as I remember that box had the size of a small refrigerator. And we have to thank our dogs for this display. Thranduil is standing on the top of the box they're sleeping in at night. Without that box we would've had no way to display him elsewhere.

Valar Yep, and this was the reason for me not to order Thranduil on Elk, because of his size. Since we've had Thranduil on Throne already the other Thranduil would've had to move in to the Weta wall and during that time the Weta wall wasn't fit for him. Well, I guess you just can't have everything, but I would've loved so much having Thranduil on Elk also. And yes his size is enormous, there about 1 sqm polystone.

bombjak hi and welcome back. I too got Thranduil on Throne. Absolutely amazing but not on display till I move next year. The guard is amazing too. And the shipping boxes. One is larger than any other box I’ve ever received except for the other box - which is the size of a normal fridge.

Blimey! See, this is another aspect of collecting that I hadn't anticipated when I started all those years ago... It never occurred to me I'd have to find room for all the boxes too! Crazy though it sounds, the Victorians clearly didn't think about storage for polystone collectable boxes when they built these houses 120 years ago... SO short sighted!

I have a few of the older Sideshow/ Weta statues, (Moria Orcs/ Easterling etc) and those boxes are tiny compared to the more recent Weta ones. I bought the 1/6th scale Sideshow Sauron and the box for him is HUUUGE! We're thinking of putting a roof on it and renting it out on Air B&B....

LOL they didn't even think about where to store their clothes! Who needs closets when you can just haul massive wardrobes up narrow stairs haha

It's the third-rail of collecting. Nobody wants to talk about it. If you don't talk about it the problem isn't real.

Wow. So far, I have never received a collectible that was so large that it had to be shipped on a pallet. I think that will end when the full size Balrog bust finally arrived. I'm in fear of the cost of that thing.

Did you have much trouble with dust? How'd handle that issue with the statues?
