Congrats Anarion I too have the Vauen pipes. Looked for years and gave up. Then a friend sold me his. Don’t smoke it - it decreases it’s value.

The Gimli one sold for $750 US dollars a few months ago on eBay. In box and unsmoked.

Information on the Vauen licence - it was refused renewal years ago due to these pipes being functional and the anti smoking movement. You will never find a functional lotr licensed pipe except the old Vauen ones.

When you say anti smoking movement are you refering to Weta/Lotr Fans or other movements? i cant see why this is a problem lel...i mean if you are non smoker but if you want the pipe does it mater if i can smoke on it or not? this is so stupid or it was to make the pipe cheaper?

yeah i understand but my problem with that narrative is why people dont apply this to other porducts? like alcohol drinks for exemple...here tabaco packs have pictures that show people with diseases like lung cancer etc, they rise the prices and a bunch of other campaign and for me its ok i dont have any problem with that, but when i look to alcohol that make the same or even more impact on society and our health, and i could use a bunch of other exemples like fast food, drinving and producing expensive petrol cars etc.

i mean in this days what is the percentage of people that do smoke pipes?? almost 0 this dont make any sence to me. but oh well this world is up side down so its normal and i guess the world is much better without pipes smokers

As for the movements - Just the general opinion of the licensor In the end - Saul_Zaentz (at the time. I think they have just sold the license though). They didn’t want to be seen to be promoting smoking. But I gather the opinion was based on feedback since they granted the licence initially.

Grabbed this Frodo and Samwise Sideshow piece last week for £150. Not a bad deal, if I do say so myself. Unfortunately, the Orc blade has broken off, but it should be an easy repair. Seven more from this set to go.

Thanks. These old Sideshow pieces have really grown on me. I'd go as far as to say that the Boromir maquette is probably my most coveted piece. I saw one go for £650 or so recently, which I was gutted to miss out on. There's another one available in Korea at the moment, but that would cost over £1000 before import duty to the UK.

Big congrats Lorrcan This truly is a very nice looking piece. That the Orc blade broke off is a shame, but if it's a clean break you really should be able to glue it back together with some extra strong super glue. Good luck with your repair.

I did a little research to find Arwen and Frodo on Asfaloth, but it looks like that no shop in Europe has this one available. On Ebay I found one in Switzerland but the seller wants 1.120,92€ for it.

I've made the difficult decision to sell some of my old NTSC-U PS1 games to cover it.

Thanks. I appreciate it. NTSC-U just refers to the North American video standard for Playstation games, vs. PAL titles, which are used in the UK. NTSC-U games tend to fetch higher prices in the second hand market.

Although I couldn't afford it, I gave in and purchased the old Sideshow Arwen Exclusive piece to add to my collection. Unfortunately, after nearly two weeks of telling me "it's out for delivery", Evri have informed me that the parcel has been "misplaced". Hopefully it will turn up in a few days, but if not, keep an eye out for anyone selling number 202.
