Yes, congrats on your luck in finding it.
I have the new Sauron from Weta on Pre-order. Been a while though. I also have the Galadriel Phile and 2 Gandalf vs Balrogs coming. The wait is killing me. also have the spear of Eomer on pre-order.
The hardest part of repairs for me is finding the right color matches

So, I'm thrilled to say I have now become the proud owner of Sideshow's Aragorn as Strider maquette piece. It's my first LOTR statue, and I must admit, I'm very impressed. I usually only collect 1/4 statues, so I made an exception for this one, but I'm glad I did. Like most pieces, it's actually much more impressive in-person.

Thanks. I think I was infairly prejudiced against 1/6. I just didn't appreciate how much detail they could put onto such a small statue. His expression actually looks more "alive" than any of my 1/4 pieces. I'm now just waiting on the Prime 1 version, which broke another one of my rules - not to collect multiples of the same character...

Lorrcan Congratulations!!You really got yourself a beautiful statue there. But I understand you. We also don't like to buy multiple statues from the same character. We've made that mistake once with Gandalf. Now we got 6 Gandalf's. We rather buy from each character only one statue, that gives us the space we need for the statues we don't own yet.

Wonderful news, congrats Lorrcan!
1:6 tends to be just large enough to enable the artist to sculpt a decent likeness, yet small enough to be (relatively) shelf-space friendly
Yes it's an incredible statue... still in my list of top 5 LOTR statues ever made
I found that spotlights produce some nice effects on this statue also:
"But this condition Ilúvatar made, or it is the necessity of their love, that their power should thenceforward be contained and bounded in the World, to be within it for ever, until it is complete, so that they are its life and it is theirs."

Hopefully, that will match up well next to this one, since I'm not a fan of the original Sideshow piece. I paid £300 for Aragorn, but I like it so much in-person, I would gladly have paid double that.We have that statue and it is an adorable beauty.
On this pic he's standing right next to the Classic Series Galadriel of the White Counsil. The likeness of Gandalf is amazing and the detailing on his clothes is indeed outstanding.
