The next question is

I hope John doesn't mind:
Day 3: We're remembering 2010, when Richard Taylor was knighted. Richard said that this was an "incredibly special" honour that recognised his & Tania's work in the community - including several key causes close to their hearts.
Name a charity or cause that Richard & Tania support? Each correct answer receives a point!
Get 10 points & you could win a special, one-of-a-kind box full of items from the Weta vault.

Day 5 of our Weta Cave birthday celebrations, and we're taking a hairy stroll down memory lane to 2012 - where our Head of Prosthetics Jason is bringing Elijah up to speed with our hobbity ways.
Answer us this: how many tonnes of silicone were used during the production of The Hobbit? Hint: More than 1 and less than 10...
Many people are saying 4 ton
Halfway through! Into 2013 we fly, as Nadine puts the final touches on the Hobbit display we made for Wellington International Airport.
Name another Middle-earth character we created for our capital's airport?
Answer all 10 of our Weta Cave birthday questions & you could get your clutches on a hand-picked box of treasures...
I recall seeing Gandalf on top of the eagles, golumm trying to catch some fish and smaugI still have the photos somewhere
Day 4 of our Weta Cave 10th Birthday contest! The year is 2011, the skies are slightly grey, & the crew have had a blast building this marvellous miniature. But what project was it for?
Leave your answer in the comments for your chance to win a birthday box of rare Weta goodies!

Day 8 of our Weta Cave birthday celebrations. It's 2015 - the year that Krampus came to town! We made a bunch of physical effects for the Yuletide horror, including puppetry, animatronics, and even collectibles.
Cathy "Tree" Harris is shown here with our Cherub. Name another character we worked on?
Answer all 10 of our questions & you'll go in the draw to win a huge box of hand-picked Weta treasures.
Answers I have seen are The Dark Elf and Klaue The Teddy Bear!

Day 9 of our Weta Cave Birthday celebration, and it's 2016 - when Gallipoli: The scale of our war greeted its one millionth visitor. Our award-winning collaboration with Te Papa features 8 hyper-real sculptures. How big are those sculptures?
Answer all 10 of our throwback questions and you could win an exclusive, one-of-a-kind Weta Collecta, full of rare treasures!
From what I have seen the answer is 2.4 times the size of a normal human

I just noticed this contest today and answered to all previous questions in a row, I guess years of tidbits pay off in some way. Apart from the avatar weapons question, it is fairly simple for now.
Good luck everyone!
If I had been in charge of the questions, I would have gone a lot deeper, like for the latest one about Gallipoli: the sclae of our war sculptures, I would have asked what has been used to make nose hairs for these...yak hair of courseCreator of the Weta tidbit of the day thread and The other Weta newsletter

Here I was hoping that you would know the number of avatar weapons Exploding Horizons. If anyone did, it would be you. It was the only answer I could not find any where on the web.
Today is the last day for questions. It will be interesting to see what the last question is.
Best of luck to all that entered.

O, and the last question is: Which award did Weta win this year for Blade Runner?
Good luck to everyone who enters

Sorry, I'm a little late
It's the 10th & final day of our Weta Cave birthday contest. Thanks to all who've been playing along so far! Our 2017 photo shows the monolithic LAPD miniature we made for Blade Runner 2049.
Earlier this year, our miniatures team was delighted to receive an award for their efforts. What was that award?
Answer all 10 of our questions & be in to win a one-of-a-kind Weta Collecta - including sold-out collectibles & rare items!
The answer is VES Award for Outstanding Model in a Photoreal or Animated Project, for Blade Runner 2049, 2018

On the day that asked for what charities Sir Richard was part of, it stated each correct charity was worth a point, and you needed 10 points to be entered into the competition. I am hoping that this allows for the point that I may have lost day 2, with the Avatar question.
*Keeping my fingers crossed.
Exploding Horizons, I went with the original name for Avatar as my number of weapons guess. It looked like it could be close.
