Magnificent tho. It must be lovely to be able to hold something like that (I like working with my hands). Like truly having been in Middle Earth.
Plus the craftmanship. I always fret knowing one day - hopefully not soon - folks who worked on the Hobbit and LOTR will retire, and any chance of getting their work will gone. Unfortunately that is a fact that encourages me to spend more money.
It is a beautiful piece. The swords a bit huge though. It’s very much a 2 hander sword.
Here’s two older pics. My phone is giving me issues trying to put them at the bottom of the post.

Thank you for posting those - simply magnificent! Orcrist is my favorite of all the Middle Earth swords; yes, Thorin is my favorite character but it
would have been my favorite anyway, thanks to the graceful lines and exotic hilt, and the engraving - *wistful* (I would have wanted the pommel set with white sapphires, and fully polished blade).
I'd read the "true" version is quite large - IMO whatever it cost, this is a true heirloom, a sword that really looks forged from a magical place. I'd be one of your dinner guests that wanted to hold onto your collection and then you'd have to polish everything again.
When can we expect a new sword to go up? I don’t want to miss out on it and I know they’re extremely limited. And anybody knows what sword it may be?
Future MSSC releases have been based on votes cast by previous buyers. If you search this thread I believe you can find that Weta offered 5 options to vote on before the announcement of the sword of Eowyn. I have purchased 2 MSSC swords from Weta, but I have not heard anything about a new sword yet. Maybe they will do things differently this time. If I remember correctly, the FB announcement for Eowyn said the sword was the first in a line for woman. Maybe that meant Hadhafang is next.

That would be great. I’d love an Orc weapon though maybe like Grishnakh or some other. This would be my first. Let’s see what they come up with.

I dont think any orc weapon is ever going to end up in the MSSC line. The selection is probably limited to the steel swords that Peter Lyon made for the movies (human and elven swords). Not too many options left since most have been done, but I would guess one of these:
Hadhafang
Herugrim
Sword of Eomer
Sword of Isildur
Morgul Dagger
Narsil
Sting (small version, human scale?)
Aragorn’s elven dagger

Too bad. Of that list Hadhafang, Eomer’s and Narsil I would get 100 percent. The rest would depend on price increase vs ES

From that list I would probably order Narsil, and maybe Herugrim or the Sword of Isildur depending on price. These swords are already quite expensive and the USD is currently very strong, so if there are any significant price increases I am probably out.

I’m sure the next batch of swords are going to be at least $12,000 or so. They are certainly not going to be any cheaper
I know they did the Witchkings sword, that was very recent, but there are two other nazgul swords. Although because they aren't from named characters perhaps Weta will avoid them.
