I too was very surprised when some here started saying it would ship now. I always thought it was expected in October or later

The website still says October - December... And surely they would have let us know by now if it was coming that much sooner?

I actually think this July date is an error in the system. When you pay it off it adds x amount of days and puts that date as the expected shipping date. It doesn’t take into account it’s actual warehouse receive
date. Which in this case is still listed on the site as November.

I did see on facebook some people that have shown screen shots of an expected date to receive there piece on July 8th when they look at their order on the weta page. So maybe they're starting to ship out already. It'll be nice to see everyone's pictures once they receive their pieces.

Wow, thanks TWH! Really great of you to take and post these for us. So glad I was able to pick him up.

I agree with the reason for the bent sword, it's just wouldn't fit in that case with it properly fitted in his hand.

Since the price on the Weta website for the chap is $1,070 NZD thereabouts and excluding applicable [New Zealand] taxes, a sum closer to that labelled should be achieved by adding our GST at 15%.

Very possible, FrodoEyes. It's definitely off in a couple of places, and I'm not talking about the effect being made worse by the cutouts on the blade shape, which we know are supposed to be there. Whatever the case, we know the production models should be nice and straight.

Two questions: why is that statue listed at $1299? Even in NZ dollars, that's still off by about $230.

Also, what's the deal with the Thranduil and Tauriel elven ears in the bottom case? Are those the new SDCC releases we've been told we're going to be floored by?

I think maybe it's too big for the cabinet, so they couldn't display it with the sword fully in place, assuming the blade is separate and fits into the hilt or hand.

Yes, I rather wondered if the hilt and blade were somewhat at an angle to one another.
