Thought we were getting close when I saw this from Indy.

    Indy writes (Nov 6):
"Just an update... the 3d printing is all done and the pieces have been sent to our mold maker. I was in such a hurry to ship them out, I never took a photo, but white prints never look that great in photos anyway. Hopefully we'll have some big news in a few weeks."

    Not so sure now though.

    Indy writes (Feb 17):
"We basically scrapped our previous sculpt and started from scratch. I'll post the updated prototype as soon as we've got it ready..."

I'm not too sure where we are at with this project at this stage.

I'm hoping to add this to my collection when I retire. That's four years from now.

I'm happy to still be on the list, but I've nearly given up hope that Indy will ever actually complete the Guthwine project.

Yes, so happy to see something is finally happening with this project.

Indy writes: "The factory is working on tweaking the quillon arms of our Inigo Montoya sword hilt. We're hoping to have some news on this and the final Guthwine prototype very soon... "

                  Great news.

I'm not excited to bits but once it's finished I'll buy it anyway

So I can tell people that sword is so awesome it took the best smith in the world 5+ years to manufacture it for me

I heard that Herugrim may be getting a reissue next year, as well as Eowyn's sword...and maybe something else to go along with those.

This was posted by someone at UCF, the conversation continues and concludes with the suggestion that both Herugrim and Eowyns Sword will be re-issued by UC next year at some point, they are also considering Guthwine.

I'll say no more at present as I don't want to get anyone's hopes up prematurely (or get anyone in trouble).

Also it's not my info, i'm just repeating it...here's hoping though. Another chance at Eowyn's sword would be nice, and to be able to complete the set would make a lot of people on here awfully happy

I´m so done with this project. No updates, no nothing. So i didn´t bother to write a mail to that Indy guy to tell him i´m dropping out. Let someone else have my number. I don´t care anymore.

Even if Indy got his act together, an issue of Guthwine by United would render it totally worthless and not resellable.

Apparently United are waiting to see how sales on the Bard sword go before making a decision on the Rohan swords.

PS: Do we know what steel Indy intends to be using? Because anything other than 420 stainless steel that UC use for their awkward chunks would catapult it into another league, resellable or not.

                                        • Kind of tired of UC "reissuing" swords that they made years ago. It's such a cheap move on their part. It's time to move on and stop with the recycled old stuff. There is plenty of new LOTR steel that is waiting to be made, Guthwine included. Wormtongue's dagger was shown but never made. You think waiting for Indy's sword for 4 years is a long time, how long has it been since UC made new steel from the LOTR?
